What Can Be Achieved in This Training Program

Successful apprentices will develop comprehensive bench, machining, welding, and blue print reading skills; Die components & functionality knowledge; Trade Math skills; Practical Die Building techniques (assembly & tryout); also, Knowledge in CNC, Project Management, Tool Design, Laser Cutting etc…

Upon completion of in depth training, apprentices will be guaranteed a position as a Tool & Die Maker in one of the MDG facilities earning competitive wages with great opportunities for further career development and advancement.


Entrance Requirements

  • Grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent 
  • 12 candidates will be selected from the General Labour pool
  • Must pass the Max Die Group Screening Test

Tool & Die Maker Requirements

  • An Average of 70% in the Max Die Training Centre (tests, projects)
  • Minimum requirement for College 60%
  • Government Red Seal Certification requirement 70%
  • Max Die Group handbook standards apply
  • Uniforms will be mandatory (payroll deduction)
